Every once in a while someone will be at my house and ask for a phone book. I always look at them a little funny, like they are living in the wrong century! Can you say internet? Yeah, I recycle mine too. Seems like a waste.

I was actually thinking about this the other day! It's funny to me. I write a check once a month for rent, and I wouldn't if I didn't have to. I've had the same checks since 2005!

Hey! I still write checks at the grocery store! LOL I have no debit card. Or credit cards. BUT that is about the only check I write. Does that count for something? LOL And I, too, cannot believe how many times they seem to update the damned phone book a year. That's a lot of trees!

The look so different to the ones we get here. An old employee asked me to find out all the names and numbers and contact details of every opperational business in our area for a magazine launch. Anyway I really felt like sending her a copy of the phone book which has residential and business listings and say here use this and highlight the ones who want a copy of the mag. But no muggins here had to ring around, use and abuse google directories etc. Was long.com

Damn, I do still occasionally find use for a phone book, and still write checks at the grocery store as well.

But we get about 3 to 4 different phone books dropped off here a year. Now that's a definite waste.
